Ten Commandments blu ray

I've looked through the new Ten Commandments blu ray and it's unbelievable. It has to be one of the best classic movie restorations ever, up there with Wizard Of Oz and the classic Disney animated movies.

Of course, that means the young 1950's blue screen technology shots look more blue screen than ever but I love that too.

But what really stands out is the costumes, you can almost touch them.

Did they ever clean up the blue screen work where the flagman is signaling to raise the Pharaoh statue ?

That particular scene always looked extra bad --- flag against blue screen

I know what you are talking about and they left it alone, which in the end I prefer. That's the way it looked in the movie.

One of the things they did in the Wizard of Oz restoration is erase the wire attached to the lion's tale to make it move when it was visible, which goes beyond restoration in my opinion and makes it a special effects tune up.

I am waiting for the HD restoration of that movie

I have it, but haven't watched it yet. I heard it was fanatically restored.

Yeah, I've heard that it looks fantastic in HD. I haven't seen the film since I was a kid, but after reading the raving reviews of the Blu-ray, I'm now planning to pick it up.

Sorry, I can't think of Moses without thinking of that song. "Singin' In The Rain" is one of my favorites! The DVD I have looks great, but HD would be awesome.

Despite me being ZERO religious...it's one of my all time favorite movies.

for the past 10 years or so I've tried really hard to watch it all the way thru when they show it on ABC. I've never made it.
