Kool Stuff Toys: Bad things happening to good people

I got some really bad news at a toy show today, one of my favourite toy haunts had a major disaster.

As most people know, collectible shops often have a rep of often being rip off dens or at best places not suited for customer service. So when there is a place like kool stuff with it's friendly (and honest) owner Jeff, you come to treasure it.

Last week a truck plowed right through the store, the staff narrowly avoided injury but the damage is in the thousands and it's just a crappy thing to happen to such nice people.

If you're ever in the Greater Toronto Area, Kool Stuff is a must visit.

Plus they give out Megomuseum trading cards!

How awful. I hope insurance will take care of everything and they're back in business.

Looks like the driver's insurance is footing the bill here.

Seriously, you've never met a nicer family, Jeff and his wife even ran a free thrift store in the their basement for a long while.

Awful. I hope they get back into shape soon and put this behind them.

All the best to Jeff and his wife.

I wish we had a store like that around here.

Hope they will be back up soon.
I will be heading to Toronto this summer.
I would love to visit this store!

Bummer deal! Thank goodness for insurance though. At first I thought this was going to be about a smash and grab from the way things looked in the pictures.

It is a true shame. It has been said though that it will rain on the righteous as well as the unrighteous. I have seen and heard stuff happen like that a lot.

Best of luck to Jeff and his wife and I hope everything gets back to normal again soon.

This **** happens all the time and it is really sad.

My girlfriend works with a woman that was forced out of her home after the city condemned it "unsafe" after some drunk idiot drove through the front part of it.

The woman and her 5 kids were homeless last I checked and waiting for some kind of solution to their beautiful home of 5 years.

Hearing this kind of story is always disturbing. I truly hope they are able to start back soon; days with the door closed are days with no profit.

Hopefully they can survive any lost profit from being closed, but I am very glad to hear that no person was hurt because of it.
                          It's all good!

Aw man, that is just horrible. Good thing nobody was hurt though.

I was planning to surprise Jeff with a trading card I made for him but it wasn't back from the printer yet. Obviously he wasn't at the show.
