    seeking an obscure band

I've kind of become obsessed with the finnish alt rock girl group "Thee Ultra Bimboos" lately but for the life of me I cannot purchase any of their music on itunes and my local record shop is a joke.

I'm this desperate that I'm asking on a toy board, any ideas, leads, etc?

Didn't know of you wanted the actual CD, but there are some available on hte kinda cheap.
I almost had a psychic girlfriend but she dumped me before we met.

If anyone here believes in psychokinesis, please raise my hand.

What's your local record store? I'd be surprised if Rotate This didn't carry these guys. They moved but I'm pretty sure they're still on Queen St.
I just checked them out on youtube, I would've made the The Donna's comparison even if they werent in the sidebar. Who doesn't like cute rocker chicks?

          Brian,

You might have to get it overseas. Very obscure band from the late 90's. Some shops I've found have it used but they are in Europe. Might have luck finding it used.
I'd stay away from torrents. But that is just me.

Brian, I tell ya, in the 90's there were so many places in NYC in the Village I could'a recommended but it's been years since I've been in that part of town and I'm not sure if the places are still there. If they have online stores you might try:

Second Coming Records, Bleeker Bob's, many stores @St. Marks Place. Maybe if you do a Google search for NYC Record stores. I'll ask my friend Nick if he remembers any good places.

Yeah, Amazon is GREAT! I'm also into the Riot grrrl Bands. I found Sleater Kinney's 1st CD on Amazon...which is out of print.

I'm in the burbs, we have an HMV and just lost our Sunrise. I don't miss my days in the city until I try to do something like this.

I have an idiot pal who thinks "girls can't rock", a super dumb thing to say in my house, there's a guitar in every room and none are mine.

I'd stay away from torrents. But that is just me.
Yeah, I don't steal my media, I have too many friends and family in the creative arts to do that.

As others have said Amazon is great for stuff like this. You can get used stuff cheap on Amazon as I have bought many CDs there over the years.

Yeah, I swore my initial attempts at Amazon were fruitless, maybe I used the Canadian site...

We have an Amazon account and order from there all the time so I would be happy to get you what you want, if it helps. We could have it direct shipped to you.

I respect that. The music industry has been dying a slow death because of that ****. If there were more people like you bands like Warrant wouldn't be playing 30 seater bars.

Based on being in both arenas, I don't believe that to be the root cause.
Progress in technology is the best scapegoat to utilize as an excuse warrant the slow demise of the music industry. It's more than that and has always been. It's very top heavy and thriving off of corruption.
I think Warrant is playing bars because the fan base is not there and many bands make a living from touring and do well.
