The odd part about this one though isn't a dialect difference within different regions of the U.S. but a difference in enunciation between countries. The Folksvagen example is the closest example. It would be the same if the U.S. dealerships were forced to start calling it by it's German enunciation "Folkvagen" instead of it's English enunciation "Volkswagon". I don't understand why Adidas would start forcing the German enunciation when the company has been around for decades and prounounced in the Anglican way here in the U.S."The farther we go, the more the ultimate explanation recedes from us, and all we have left is faith."
