    My stepfather's 'secret stash'....

(Father-in-law rather...I confuse those terms sometimes..) .....OR, 'The Mysterious Garage'. This coming Monday we are heading over to my in-law's place to clear-out their garage. We have to move roughly 70 crates to our storage unit. (The old man just bought 80-100 push mowers and he needs the space...) Much of the stuff is my wife's, but many of the boxes are also things that I brought here with me or have acquired since moving here. None of this stuff has seen the light of day for close to five years, so who KNOWS what might be tucked-away....."Meatballs: The Board Game"? ..... "Ron Jeremy Colorforms Set"?? Who KNOWS?!

    I'll bring my camera.

I know, right? He is long retired, was the head dispatcher for the city bus dept. for 30+ years, and now he does limo runs, carpentry work, and tinkers with electronic/mechanical stuff to fill his time. Oh - And he has survived cancer, twice, as well as just having had a double-bypass this past winter....Sort of like the 'Action Jackson' of 80-year-olds, eh?

A buddy of his is closing his fix-it shop, hence the mass surplus of mowers. Some are in great shape, some are in pieces, its his plan to repair/combine to create workable equipment. (Once all of the mowers are moved into the garage(s), I'd like to get a few shots of them....if for nothing else just to see 80+ lawn mowers of all makes and models in one 'collage'. )

^ Either of these would be great as well!

(Not sure about the magazines, but he HAS got a set of those 'nasty' playing cards.....he showed me them years ago....the way that he OGLED them kind of gave me the creeps.....like that episode of The Simpsons'....(character is shown an early 1900s 'erotic' picture of a woman wearing a blouse and bloomers, only her bare ankles exposed) "My GOD man! That woman is showing her PRIVATES!!".....)

That's the first thing I thought of too. Ah, I remember when I was a kid and found my dad's secret stash of those.

Well, it was sort of a disappointing bust, but you cant win 'em all I suppose. Over the course of 3-4 hours, I personally moved/loaded/arranged roughly 100 crates from the old man's garage to our storage unit. (My wife and her mother hung out in the house while the old man loomed over me outside like the 'Boss' from Cool Hand Luke...lol) A FULL pick-up load plus a 10' trailer, boxes stacked three high, and I was able to strip it out and stuff it into the storage unit in just under a half hour...I was pretty damned proud. (Until this AM....lol...I must have forgotten that I'm not 23-year-old powerhouse these days...maaaaaan am I sore..)

Anyhow, not a whole helluva lot at all:

Giant crate of GI Joe 'Sigma 6' stuff. (I have NO idea how I acquired these, but you ought to see how perfectly the rescue/hazmat helmets fit Mego heads!)
Half of a pillow case filled with Mutant Turtle figures.
Another pile of 'Imaginext' stuff. (Where is this coming from?)
                  Few WalMart Adventure Team guys.
About 100 comic reprints that came with Marvel Legend figures.
My DragonBall Z figures! I found around 50 of 'em!
4' tall crate filled with MOTU vehicles/playsets
Minty Castle Greyskull (With its weapons and accessories...and GLOWING facade!)
Two suitcases filled with random 90s/80s figures.
My giant tub of Chap Mei figures. (These 4" lines are great...Pirates, Knights, Beast Raiders...I have some skull island playsets as well!)
                  Random video games.
ANOTHER three crates of VHS tapes.
Legend of Zelda drinking cup. (My wife was apparently weaned on this cup...lol)
                  Naked A.J.!
                  Blah blah blah...

Make sure you go through the videos.

Some movies that have not been released on DVD go for a few bucks.

Take a picture and post the hazmat helmet on a figure, I would like to see that.
