My gosh they were acting like the president or the pope died this morning.....Elizabeth Taylor hasn't been relevant since the 80s...And even then it was all campy over the top stuff...

I'd disagree. She may have not done anything noteworthy recently but her earlier work from the 1940's through the 1970's will ensure her relevance in Hollywood until that town crumbles into dust.
