Yep, they're still in business. I remember getting ice cream cakes for my birthday and picking out that sugar gel they would use to decorate with. We don't have one locally but I have seen carvel ice cream cakes at one of our local grocery stores....I think it is Safeway. I don't think they are quite as big as they were years ago though. A lot of companies like Baskin-Robbins, DQ, plus newer companies like Cold Stone Creamery jumped in the marketplace.

We used to get Carvel ice-cream. I even had one of their cakes for my 6th birthday. I miss that!

There are at least 6 or so here in Queens, NY Mike. Forest Hills/Metropolitan Ave, Bayside Bell Blvd., Union Tpke. Flushing, 2 in Whitestone, and 1 more. I'm forgetting the location. Also they are carried by most super-markets in the area.
