I really dont' think you're missing a lot without Mike..

It's great when they're a foursome, but with Peter handling most of the lead guitar parts, and the three singing 'What Am I Doin' Hanging 'Round' together, it's more than enough to make up for Mike.

Don't get me wrong, I LOVE his enormous contribution (and I enjoy being a self-professed 'Nezhead' with his solo material and videos on my iPod..), but as a performing ensemble, they worked around him not touring in both '86 and '96 when I saw them just fine.

I bought tickets for Westbury, taking my neices, who are 7 and 9. They love the TV show and watch my DVD box sets over and over.
I saw them 3 times in England in 97 with Nesmith. Peter played bass and keyboards. The only song Peter played guitar on was For Pete's Sake. Mike's guitar playing was fine. However, he is a stiff on stage compared to the other three. He also does not sing like he used to. He always seems out of breath. I noticed this when I saw him solo in 92, also.

Hmmm, Interesting.. I've always been a big fan, but didn't know they were touring this year..

I know Peter was struggling with the 'Big C' (would LOVE to meet him..) and knew in all interviews I read with Davey that he wasn't interested in any more Monkee tours. I also knew that Peter took over for Mike on most guitar parts, like the 'Pleasant Valley Sunday' intro..

'Guess things change when money's involved.

I loved their '96 tour without Mike, got Mickey's autograph and was SOOO buzzed Saw them back in '86 as well..

Peter was at the Pittsburgh Steel City Con last week, he looked good. I've seen Davy in person a few times as he lives not far from here..in fact, I almost walked into him on Christmas eve at Wal-Mart!

    Hmmmm....

They played at work a few years back, and folks said it was a good show. A friend of mine was part of the security escort for Davey. True story:

"Officer Doak, can you take a run from Red 3?"
"Not right now.... I've got a Monkee on my back...."

He gets talked to a lot.
