Just had the best burger of my life

    Five Guys Burgers and Fries.

I just found out there was this place around he corner from my store and went there this afternoon. I'd read online how badass their stuff is and it's every bit the hype. And, you get so much for a reasonable price. The basic burger itself is two patties and the fries are overloaded into the bag, overflowing from the container.

The meat itself is juicy, even borderlining on greasy, but with crispy edges like Steak and Shake. They even have a strategic topping plan on where certain extras are placed. Mustard on top, lettuce in between patties and ketchup on the bottom for example.

As a burger consumer and fat dude, I gotta say this is the best tasting one and the best value I've seen, period. I do not think I'll find it's equal, at least not in the midwest.

      Sounds tastie

Getting a good burger around these parts is very difficult.

      We have .......

      Fast Foods ...... burgers stink
Restaurants ...... most taste like dry meatloaf on a bun
Diners ..... Giant bun, grocery store premade frozen pattie

I miss the old greasy spoons that used to be around.

Fast food ran them all out of business in the 80's

I just recently seen this place on TV. Up until then/now I had not heard of it.

The great thing is that I have plenty of locations to choose from in my area. I will give it a try.

Just for the record I like Burger Brothers. They are really good IMO.

That's crazy. I hit the link and they are soon opening a five guys in my hometown of St. Albert, Alberta Canada. I'll have to check it out.
As of now Fatburger makes my favourite burger. We only got a Fatburger a couple of years ago.

          Now i'm really hungry.

Five Guys here moved into the old Cheezburger Cheezburger location. I thought they made a mistake the first time I went when I ordered just a regular burger and got a double. I didn't know at the time that was a "regular" burger.

If you can't find decent burgers in your area...make your own.

Doesn't take much to make great burgers.

Get some 80/20 ground beef (or if you wanna cut down on fat, make it 90/10)...add sea salt a fresh cracked ground pepper...and if you want to customize the meat...you can add practically anything...garlic, minced onions, paprika, peppers, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce...I mean anything...even eggs and crackers...the sky is the limit.

On a large skillet...you can slightly put a little bit of butter...and toast your buns that way.

Grilling is best...but if you cook them indoors...sautee the beef patties anyway you like 'em...rare, medium rare, medium done, well done...etc...

You can also caramelize onions, mushrooms...crisp some bacon, etc...

Mayo, no mayo, mustard...pickles, no pickles, ketchup, hot sauce...and on...and on...and on...

Romaine lettuce, iceberg lettuce, shredded lettuce, no lettuce...

Cheeses...any cheese you want, American, cheddar, musnter, provolone, swiss, monterrey jack, etc...

Go crazy...burgers are super delicous...yet easy to make...

You'll save money too....just prepare the ground beef into patties...place them on freezer bags...and freeze them...anytime you feel like a burger...take one of those frozen ready to go patties out...and cook the sucker...lol.

              The possibility are endless.

              So stop whining...and start dining...

There's exactly one Five Guys Burgers in Northern California...it's in Fremont...about 25 miles and a 30 minute ride from Oakland.

I wouldn't go as far as saying it's the best burger in the world...too many great ones out there...especially local eateries with five star ratings around...some like a Kobe beef burger in San Francisco that will knock your socks off...however...that sucker costs $40...I only had it once...I just had to try it...lol.

But for large fast food chains go...yes...it's pretty up there...on a par with In N Out Burgers (a lot less greasy, lol)....although I have to admit...Five Guys Burgers' fries are better than In N Out's.

So yes...Five Guys Burgers is pretty awesome.

We are getting one in Winter Haven this fall. For now we have to go to Tampa or Lakeland. Best chain burger on the planet.
