    Dr. Scholl's custom orthodic inserts

    Homepage | Dr Scholl's Orthotics

    Anyone wear these? Opinions?

I've seen the machine at Walmart and went thru the "mapping" process.. I have pretty flat feet and have suffered from plantar fasciitis pain in the past, so I thought I might give them a try. The $50 pricetag has put me off tho..

I bought a pair just last week because I also have flat feet. I went through the whole process about 5 times to see if it would recommend different soles but it kept telling me 130s. I would say the first day, they felt kind of strange (like a new pair of shoes strange) but after having them for a week or so, I would say it is one of the best $50 investments I have made. I'm one of those type of people who only buys shoes on an as needed basis so for me, a pair of tennis shoes may last 2+ years because I only wear them on the weekends. I simply pull the inserts out and use them in whatever shoes I'm wearing that day (dress shoes, dress casual, tennis, etc.) and I notice a big difference in lack of foot pain by days end.

I've never tried the machine yet, but now I might have to. I use Dr Scholl's insoles, but not the $50 ones. Mine help some, but I wouldn't mind something better. It mostly affects me when I exercise, so I'd probably use them mostly in my gym shoes.

              Does insurance usually cover those?

This was quite some time ago, but mine did.

I have them...and yes...in the beginning they do feel kinda strange....but once you get used to them...they are fantastic...you walk more comfortably...and your feet don't get sore like before.

My health plan covered it...but if your own health plan doesn't cover them...it's worth every bit of that $50...heck...I'd pay a $100 if I had too....even more...

I tried the doctor prescribed orthodics once years ago and didn't care for them. Since I have flat feet, it had an almost forced arch in them and ended up leaving my feet hurting more at the end of the day. Like I said, I was a bit turned off by the $50 price tag (you can buy a new pair of shoes for that price with money to spare) but they really do work and I like the fact that you can move them from shoe to shoe with relative ease.

I did the same thing, and it kept telling me the 440. Has a lot to do with weight distribution I guess..

Thanks for all the comments.. I'll definitely pick up a pair now.

The prescribed ones or the Dr Scholl ones?

                            Or both?

I quite don't get what you meant.

Trust me...it works. This is coming from not only with someone with flat feet...but I also have permanent neuropathy on both my legs.

                              Don't believe me?

Try walking all day without shoes...or at least...wear these pair of Converse shoes all day...then get back to me...see if your feet are happy feet...

I think you already know the answer.

But don't listen to anyone here...try them on...judge for yourself.
