Just in case you needed to know,...

when dropped from counter height, a five pound plastic jar of Prego spaghetti sauce will shoot the lid more than four feet while continuing to propel the sauce to a distance of at least eight feet, or until stopped by a wall. This estimate of eight feet does not only apply to outward direction, but upward as well. I think we can all guess how I discovered this.

P.S. My white and black Japanese Bobtail kitten is now a lovely shade of orange.

Drop the next jar from shoulder height and give us the results

Oh OK, I thought this was a science experiment. I was going to help you compute your findings of projectile ready-made sauces!!!

Too bad I don't have any kids; I could see a very entertaining science fair project come out of this.

Well I suppose that is one way to find out that info. I am just glad that no one was hurt.

So in other words your white and black Japanese Bobtail kitten is now a Tabby.

The dog has loved Oz from the very day the kitty arrived. Bart lays on Oz, tries to pick him up to carry him around, and follows him everywhere. Now that Oz tastes like spaghetti, that devotion has grown to dangerous proportions.

No, I was more concerned about getting the staining, red sauce off my walls and the rug. Cabinets and appliances clean up very nicely. But I hauled the entire area rug outside into the snow and then power washed it. It looks like we had a massacre. Now that it's dark, I cannot tell how well it is drying. If the stain still shows on the tan rug, I maybe I will smear sauce into the rest of the rug so the stain isn't noticeable.

Don't worry, I am full of "grace and coordination" and I pull some hair-brained thing like this every few years. I'll remember to take pix then. The last time it involved a milkshake, the blender and a wooden spoon. And we don't even discuss the Great Stuff incident of '98.

Nothing like cleaning up glass and sauce. RIT makes a stain remover for tomato sauce that might help with the rug..at least they did a couple of years ago when we needed it.

When my brother was younger, he was carrying one of those little microwaveable pasta cups across the kitchen. I don't know if he tripped or if it got too hot for him to hold onto. But somehow lasagna ended up hitting a running fan. We kept finding red sauce in new fun places for years.
Hey! Where's the waiter with the water for my daughter?
