Last posted on 3/4. Looking at his history, doesn't seem unusual for him to go a few days between posts sometimes. -

Correct.
You all should know by now that I have a penchant for throwing my spearguns and dive gear in the back of my truck on a whim and driving South for hours on end, to the beautiful Sea of Cortez to find some peace in my life and to try to make sense of this existence. I'm home now, but my gills are drying out. Now, every moment again becomes about getting back into the sea to be with my brothers and continue to search for peace.

[QUOTE=Hector;703832]On a serious note though...don't you worry about the current violence going on down there?/QUOTE]
Hec,
When you've had guns pointed at you and have faced death as much as I have, it kind of becomes "normal". I don't mean that in a flippant or uncaring sort of way, it's just my reality. The things I like to do are dangerous. Period. They're dangerous on many levels. That's what makes them worthwhile to me. If I meet my demise doing any of those things, I see that as a good thing. It is not tragic to die doing what you love. I refuse to waste away in some hospital bed, drooling all over myself or in some home or hospice. It's just not my style.
Yes, there's violence down there, but there's violence everywhere. You can get killed standing on a street corner, two blocks from your house. Death doesn't bother me. It's part of the whole life experience. When my time comes, I want to enjoy it as much as I've enjoyed life.
There's an entire WORLD out there. A world full of magical and incredible things. I for one am just not content to look at it on the internet or a television screen. I need to experience it live. I need to be there and participate in the world's and my own existence. Death comes for us all with a smile Amigo, all a man can do is smile back.

Oh, I know about being close to death...my mom had brought in a priest...when the doctors had told my family...I had only a 20% of making it through...way back in 2004. Went through a lot of both physical and mental anguish, five operations in a little over one year, and another at a nursing facility. My present condition is a testament to that....although I'm glad to report, I'm now sound of mind...lol.
Not implying anything, Sandy...just be careful...you are kinda of a high-profiled person...although I highly doubt...those idiots have any idea who you are...but if they are willing to take on some regional local unknown musician...well...just be careful.
Yes...crime everywhere...but not at the rate that Mexico is experiencing right now in the border areas.
Having said that...the vast majority of Mexicans are extremely friendly, humble, and hard-working people (as you know).
BTW...I lived in Mexico for several years (mostly in the state of Jalisco)...beautiful country...it's just too bad what's happening right now...especially northern Mexico.
But yes, live your life...explore the world...I think it's fantastic, my friend...but please be careful down there.Last edited by Hector; Mar 9, '11, 4:08 AM.sigpicComment
