Its GoodWill day - cross your fingers!

We will be heading out in about 20 minutes. I think today that I want to hit the surrounding towns as well, so if all works out as planned, I'll be hitting roughly 20 places today - GWs, fleas, and a few of what they call 'variety malls' here.

Wish me LUCK, and remember - MY finds are YOUR finds!
(For the most part...meaning that I'm fairly selective as to what I keep for myself, so as per usual, whatever I DONT want will be offered HERE...)

Thanks! lol My wife just informed me that the McDonald's 'Filet-o-Fish' are currently 2-for-$3, so I might have to treat myself today.
(We so RARELY eat fast foods, and I have kind of a soft-spot for this fish-like sandwich...its one of those tastes from my youth I suppose..)

I have never had any luck at Goodwill. Last Mego I found in the wild was a Fonzie for $10 at a flea market. Good luck on the hunt Charlie.

            Same here.

I did pick up a boxed complete 1968 AMT lighted USS Enterprise model kit at my local Salvation Army about 10 years ago.

Paid a whole $5.00 for it

Them days are long gone though

There are more Salvation Armies than Goodwills (which, as others have said, don't have toys) in my area, but finding anything pre-90s at this point is rare.

The flea markets are usually pretty savvy in their pricing. If I do happen to see an interesting vintage piece (toys or otherwise), 90% of the time it's priced accordingly to completed eBay auctions or a value guide. I don't know many flea market vendors who would slap garage sale prices on toys older than 20 years..

Well humanos, I'm getting things photographed and ready to show....Not TOO much going on, but....I had a very s m a l l Mego find!

I'll call this (long) day of the fleas:

"Meh, I've had worse, but I've had better..." or "Charlie's wedding night part II"

Just a few more minutes....when I found Mego #####, I DID flip right OUT though....people were looking at me with nervous smiles and clenched teeth like "Oh god...please dont crush me to death giant maniac!"

Mikey - "Bypass the filter"? Is that what its called? Whoops! What about the 'Yosimite Sam'?

                        Here we go...

These are things that I did NOT buy, and various other shots. Mostly store stock.

*WARNING* If you might be offended or sickened by: Rubber Ducky! Nearly stale candy! Nut sack! Ancient texts! Slimy SCUM! Kitty's Secret Place! Etc! Please do NOT proceed!

This guy had these great repro posters. This is as CLOSE as I could get - They hang 15' up the wall.... I have several other shots of his area, he has books/newspaper clips/postcards/pictures/etc. dating back to the early 1800s - Amazing!

                        Sickening rubber-faced 'bear doll'....ughh.

                        ........

"Psychic Readings" for $20! Roll the dice!

Do I have to say it, really?

                        ..........

Dollar store/Mercado - Pretty self-explanatory...those figures have some VERY cool Mad Max designs, they are articulated like the 25th Ann. Joes, only with sloppier paint/less detail.....shots of small parts of the 'boys' and 'girls' toy isles (looks to me like 'modern' versions of the rack toys of my youth) ..........FREAKY! - These were .50!

....I'll have shots of the stuff I DID buy in a few....

OK...as promised...the stuff that I DID buy yesterday.

(Give me ten-fifteen minutes...the PhotoBucket site is causing my computer to GRIND and CHUG for some reason...)

Here we go.... (Sorry...I'm still learning the 'finer points' of how PhotoBucket works...)

Massive amount of Fisher Price/Imaginext/Geobra/and similar. Dozens of tiny weapons, playset parts, blah blah..

                            Comics!

Assorted. The general consesus here is to pick-up the 'Rescue Hero' vehicles as they are Mego scale, so here ya go...whats THIS hybrid thing? (That red dragon is really cool...he does the Glen Quagmire Giggity-Goo and flaps his wings via a switch.)

1949 'The Rainbow Dictionary'. This has a leather-like skin, and is very well-made...I think it's beautiful. (I was reading that this book, and one similar, were the 'proto versions' of the 'Dick and Jane' books..)

Masks from a corporate event! "The United Way honours YOU - The Super Friends!" ...How neat is that? Check out that 'menu' - I want a taste!

Wooden figurines of William, or 'The Bard', (I think it is anyhow..) and another guy that looks like Wilford Brimley mixed with Ernie Borgnine.....Don Quixote? When I found the tall guy, I said "Awesome - Vincent Price!" ...My wife then informed me that it was Shakespeare...heh. I think they are older, as their bases are worn to hell and they are heavily faded. They are both marked: 'OURO Made in Spain' and a number. Terrific figures.

Sleeve of high-density plastic cups! Sturdier than you'd think, I was surprised. 75 16 oz. cups per sleeve - refuse from a political rally and/or a corporate event.

                            Bryan and Brian?:
                            (And a cherry tree pipe...'Royal Duke'....mmmmmm....)

Bones and Spock!! No shirts or anything else, but still!

                            Enjoy!

Oh.....The total for the day, including lunch, was less than $25.
