First Look at Nickelodeon Ninja Turtles

Well, WSJ sort of leaked this one out. It's been confirmed as official. I've got the picture and opinions over at the usual:

It's not perfect, and there's one potentially controversial change (but it's unconfirmed at the moment) and generally some positive stuff going on. Turtle fans should check it out.

I don't think Nick got rid of the weapon in question. Wouldn't make any sense when they had them in that Turtles movie last year.

That movie was in 2007, but yeah it wouldn't make sense. The nunchucks have always been highly controversial, though. Nunchucks for some reason are seen as very dangerous weapons... More dangerous than swords and guns.



That said, the designer got back to me and basically said "don't worry about it" as if to indicate the chucks may still be around in some capacity.

Time will tell.

Okay, you've confused the crap out of me, lol.

Which movie are you talking about?

TMNT the CGI movie came out in 2007:


Then there was a series finale/Mirage cartoon finale, Turtles Forever which had all the previous Turtles meeting up in late 2009:


That's the last two "movies" that have been made. Turtles Forever was a made for TV movie, while the other, TMNT, was in theaters.

Anyway, Nickelodeon didn't buy the Ninja Turtles until 2010, so if Nick showed any movies or whatever, it was just because they just now got the rights to all the Turtles stuff. Nickelodeon hasn't made any of their own Ninja Turtles shows/products yet. The stuff they're showing now is all old stuff.

The link and story I posted is the first shot ever of any of the new Nickelodeon version of the Turtles.
