I've been checking air fare / hotel combos and I've been amazed that it is going to be pretty cheap for me to make it out.

I'm going to wait to pull the trigger until Sandy posts a list of hotels. I found one that is only about a mile and half from his Studio and if that particular establishment ain't too skanky, I'll probably stay there as it is close-by. (operative qualifier being "too". I can deal with "trashy" and "unsafe" as long as it is only moderately so. Actually, I'm guessing any place in the area is probably alright, but it's always nice to get the "okay" from someone who is local.)

I'd love to attend, dont get me wrong. I love sci-fi, superhero, and monstery stuff and I'm sure I'd have a BLAST getting the studio tour from Sandy, but I cant leave here for that long, nor can I afford it.
(I'm a caterer, so I'm pretty much 'on call', and with my wife's job and the dogs...just not possible to go that far away..)

But you Cali folks ENJOY though - have some drinks and sights for me!
