Wow. That was cool! Wish Paramount would restore the footage.

      Great watch !!!

It made me feel really sorry for Ilia getting her head shaved (never seen that footage before)

I always thought that was stupid of them to do that.

There was absolutely no reason to have a bald woman other than shock value (at that time)

They should have made Shatner appear without his rug

        That was cool.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

Depends on how you define "shock value".

Roddenberry was always trying to destroy preconcieved stereotypes and
prejudice and all that... a bald woman hero was a great idea in that context .... and, in many ways... Illa was the thing most remembered in that movie.... so, it DID make an impact... it just depends on if you value it, I guess. AND it was ahead of it's time to this very day in 2011.
Has there been any other popular bald woman character since?
            Interesting question.

That said... she was crying real tears in that clip.... and I find it odd that
the article writer called it one of the "funniest" moments.... yeah, if
you think people suffering is funny.
