tried to call in sick but just couldnt do it! ended up working only for 2 hours tho so overall not too bad!

Because of the holidays in both countries, work was dead slow for me today. So I mostly got paid for reading, surfing the internet and catching up on my email. Not too bad.

I'm glad I booked the weekend off. The problem with Family Day is everything is closed but the movie theater...which is where I work. So everyone goes there then they get mad that its so busy. So I just stay away from there every year because its not worth the grief.

Having said that, I had a great Family Day. Spent not with "family" but family to be. I got the whole day with my girlfriend. We had breakfast with our good friend who was visiting from Calgary. Then we went to the hospital to visit her father. He's getting so much better since the accident in December. (and a thank you to all who contributed prayers. It really helped!)

I like the sound of Family Day. Always sounds peaceful and fun to me, but I'm sure if anyone is in the service industry, like the movies or restaurants, it can be a pain. Glad you had a good day off.
