I think it is fine as frog hair as well. My wife thinks it is uglier than sin, so it MUST be valuable. She is the best antique appraiser I have ever met. If she thinks it is gross, ugly, nasty, etc, I usually make a ton of money off of it.

Good call on the coffee dispenser. Collectors will want the patina left on the brass.
