Even Twinkees have gone retro

I didn't know they put the banana cream ones out once a year. I don't pay attention since they got for around $3 to $4 a box. I only noticed because the Merita Bread store had them for $1.50 a box.

Amen to that! Those were the days. I went and bought up sets and uncut boxed cards when I was on eBay back in the days.

They did put old-school look Twinkie the Kid back on tyhe box and also Captain Cupcake on the Hostess Cupcakes box....I miss all those old guys....Ho Ho, Chief Big Wheel, Fruitpie the Magician....

It may very well be. The original to me as I have known it though is the regular Twinkie.

They switched from banana to 'vanilla' cream due to a 'banana shortage' during WW II ....sounds ridiculous, but its true!

I'd like to try one of these...seeing as how I wasnt around pre-WW II to try the originals.
