    Digital camera question

    So;

    I desperately need an AC adapter for my camera, but it's an older one and the official adapter has been discontinued. BUT: there are a lot of second-party equivalents available. Is it worth getting one of these, or will it bake the camera?

    Most chargers have the specs on the backside of the plug. Match the specs for output voltage and you'll be fine. Most have a range of DC voltage output anyway so you will have quite a few options. Also if you Google the camera make, model, and add the word charger then click the shopping tab in Google you will get a ton of available chargers.

      Yeah, as long as the voltage and connector are the same, you should be fine.

        Just make sure the center poles match positive or negative. Usually there's a little picture that looks like the letter "C" with a period in the middle that shows which is positive and negative. It will be near the plug outlet on the camera and on the power pack for the charger. It should also tell you the voltage needed. I know HP cameras use a specific adapter.
