Did those Superman carnival prizes in the first segment come in red and yellow? In those colours I thought they might be Captain Marvels.Leave a comment:

I don't think it would be too difficult. I would think as long as you have paid property taxes and any other applicable tax, the Federal government doesn't get involved. Now getting in and out of the country or claiming residency might be a different story.Leave a comment:

A bit off topic ........
I always wondered how it works for non USA citizens (even rich celebs) buying houses in the US ?
Or is it easy because Shat's wife is probably American ?Leave a comment:

I'm normally the cynic, but I doubt they would hire a local actor to show up at their shop three different times. I'm guessing the guy keeps contacting the show (like most of the "customers" do) with his high-end stuff so he can keep getting his mug on TV. Good for his "career", after all. He certainly tries to make his appearances memorable by playing the hammy jerk..

Yeah, Rick seems to know way too much about everything considering he claims he dropped out of high school in the 10th grade.
I fell off the Pawn Stars train when I kept seeing the same "customer" try to sell championship rings, Lombardi trophies, vintage detonators, etc. Turns out he is an actor:

I noticed that he turned-up more than once. I foolishly assumed he was a local that cruised auctions and estate sales. I still like the show, but a little of the shine is off. And what a nice coincidence that no matter whose handwriting is in question, the "forensic document guy" can authenticate it in thirty seconds or less. I do buy into the Clark County curator guy, he's probably an actor too:-(Leave a comment:

I've often wondered how real or fake those shows are. but, they're kinda fun to watch. I like Amer. Pickers better.
The ones that get on my last nerve are the 2 "Storage Unit Auction" shows. They both seem SO fake.Leave a comment:

Frank seems more realistic as a regular guy
Mike seems like an actor
Maybe because he reminds me of Bill Nye

He actually does seem to know quite a bit about the merchandise at least probably from seeing similar items and learning over the years.
His side commentary talking about the history, etc. obviously was researched and dubbed in. It doesn't make me think any better or less of him....I just think it adds some interesting education to the show...it is the History channel after all.Leave a comment:
