My studio is at Home and I have my wifes work number.
We dont carry them. We dont have a landline either.
I have one, in the dresser drawer I think. I use it maybe 2X a month.
    I just email anymore.

I can definitely live without one. I hate text messaging and only carry a cell phone for emergencies (but have yet to have had one in 15+ years). I'm not a big telephone person so I can do without it.

Most definitely! The only reason I own one is b/c my brother wanted me to get one for when I travel. Since it's rarely used, I have a TracFone, that you can buy minutes w/ phone cards. This thing will sit on my night stand and the days will run out before the minutes do. I have like 190 mins for the next 3 months, and those will hardly be used.

The thing is not whether you can live without it or not...but it's a very convenient thing to have.

Aside from that it now serves as my personal time keeper (it has long replaced my wristwatch)...it's also important since I have an elderly mother...and the cell phone is a great tool in case of an emergency...it's also great if you drive...nothing more hopeless and frustrating...than have your car on the side of the rode...and badly need to call a tow truck. Also, the camera phone can come in handy if there's an accident/hit and run/other emergencies...a great tool for proving evidence and helping people out.

Yes...I can live without it. But why would I want that?

Same here, I haven't used a watch in years...my wife has gotten me 2 expensive Mickey ones about $200 each and my sister in law got me a COACH $500 watch for x-mas 2 years ago, and I have yet to use any of them

                      Hmmmm....

No problem, since I don't have one and never will. The LAST thing I want is for folks to bother me wherever I'm at.

Yes. We cut back to prepaid and only use them for emergencies or to keep in contact when I am on the road. Never liked using them while driving and have been rear ended a couple of times by people talking on theirs.

I walk through a college campus which is between my office and where I have to park. Watching the kids empty out of classrooms almost everyone of them is on the phone or texting. I have had them run into me, watched them run into poles or other sidewalk obstacles, trip, step off the curb in front of moving vehicles. Best one I saw is when 2 texters collided they both dropped their iPhones into the street and one phone got run over!

I now have an iPod touch and can email or check the web via WiFi. Only reason I have the iPod is I can't get radio reception in my office and could not stand the quiet. I had a CD player but got tired of swapping disks.

Too many toys. Not enough space!

My cell has become such a part of my life, I reall would be lost with out it. I also have a bluetooth and they are both important to my everyday life. I work with my hands, so does my wife. We have 2 kids, 13 & 15, that are starting to branch out and it helps keep us in touch with them.
