My pal Mush...

Finally got a cool pic of my pal Mush. He's a rescue from the Plumbing Supply I work for...his mother abandoned him and his sister Tiny. Tiny's to fast to get a decent pic of her...but I call him Mush for a reason. You can do anything to this cat and he's just so cool and it doesn't even phase him. Had him and his sister since they were about 5 or 6 weeks old. June he and his sister will be 2 years old. If I can get a pic of him and his sister side by side you'll say that they can't be from the same litter. She's about half his size....any way here he is:

Funny how kittens eye color changes. Now his eyes are green...but they were blue when he was a kitten.

So they all get along? Usually an older cat has problems accepting younger cats who didn't grow up with them.

Some of my best friends have been cats. I had one named Dewey who looked a lot like Mush.

My wife and I have rescued a couple of stray black cats here in NYC as well. One was rescued at about 2 months of age and the other was rescued when he was about 3 years old.

You should see what they do his Comics and Megos...Parts ALL over the house.

Hey...where is that removable mask for Robin, it was just here a minute ago...GONE...FOREVER!!!

...or at least until you're forced to move and clear every inch of the house, just to find it in the corner, under the linoleum, under the radiator...

There's another thing we have in common, Berto. I love cats too. All of ours are from shelters. Our middle cat is actually a Russian Blue purebred. Some pay many hundreds for those yet we found her in a shelter. They have this cat room where you have benches and cages all around. You can release them and play to see which one you want.

This particular one, Selena, selected us. She climbed up my leg and my chest and sat on my shoulder and wouldn't leave. Our decision was easy.

Russian Blue is a BEAUTIFUL cat. I remember when we used to live with my Grandparents, when we first moved out to Long Island, they had a Russian Blue. Very COOL cat...literally. They have that look about them that says "Look at how cool I am". Just a beautiful cat.

My cat Mush though is the same. He knows he's a cool cat. If I ever get my hands on a digital camera I gotta film him fetching a Beer Cap...It is the funniest thing you've ever seen. He's like a dog. He get's all happy when I go into the draw that has his beer cap in it. I chuck it across the room...he fetches it and brings it back and drops it at my feet and waits for me to throw it again...How great is that??!!?? A cat and dog all in one animal
