What aspects of the Superbowl surprised you?

There were several things about this Superbowl that surprised me.

    Steelers:
    1) The early turnovers by "Big Ben" were uncharacteristic.
    2) I thought the Steelers play calling was erratic. When the running game was working, they would often score, but then abandon it on the next series.
    3) The defensive secondary never adjusted to the all-pass play calling by Green Bay. They were routinely burned. And if not for several dropped catches on the part of Green Bay, the margin of loss could (and should) have been greater.
    4) I felt a tinge of deja vu when the Steelers got the ball back with 2 minutes left in the game. I told everyone at my party, "This better not be another Cardinal-style choke." Surprisingly, the Steelers seemed completely flustered and unorganized. Ben seem to be out of it.

    Green Bay
    1) Aaron Rodgers never seemed flustered. His passing accuracy was insane.
    2) The defense was just as deserving of the MVP. They didn't hold every time. But they held every time it counted. And never allowed the Steelers to take a lead at any point in the game.
    3) The big question at half time was whether Green Bay could survive loosing two key players (Woodson & Driver). The team never blinked. They remained calm and produced on both sides of the ball.
    4) I was shocked that Green Bay didn't run the ball inside the 10 yard line near the end of the game, when they had a chance to finish the Steelers off. I think they would have scored a touchdown since the defense was depleted.

The best team definitely won though. And man was I happy!

By far the most OVERRATED QB in the league. If he didn't have that defense they would be the AFC version of the Redskins

I was really surprised by how many balls were dropped by various Packer receivers. Some were harder catches which you just expect to be made by professional players...others, right in their hands. I was also surprised to see the Steelers turn it into a really exciting game. I thought no way would they be able to make it close with the way the Rogers was on as well as the great defensive play but have to say that it was one of the most enjoyable Super Bowls of the past few years.

Yeah, in national elections, they always talk about the 'Big Mo', momentum in the last week or so for tight races.. The Packers definitely had it going.

To me for winning Super Bowls, there's always one team that really wants it; the other, just happy to be there, more or less..

That was fairly true last night, especially with the turn-overs, which to me kept the momentum solidly in Green Bay's favor. I was concerned a bit in the third quarter because it's been said often that McCarthy isn't a good second-half coach. But typically for Green Bay, if they're ahead by half-time, they'll win if keep the energy up, which definitely came back in the fourth quarter.

One huge outcome last night was, for most aspects, nailing the last nail in Brett Favre's coffin around here in Wisconsin.

My wife (SO MUCH more the Packer fan than I...) hosted a great Packer soirée last night. Like most events she organizes in our house, I mainly come for the food and beverages... Lots of great friends and decorations all around my man-cave (which was 'Lambeau South' for one night..).

Anyone download 'Fly Like A Cheese Head'...? Look for it on youtube. We had that playing practically 24/7 this last week.

With the exception that the Redskins did beat the Packers....
