Since it's now a Mercury thread...here's one of the greatest duets ever...Under Pressure with Queen/David Bowie...

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a01QQZyl-_I

Awesome song...too bad they never performed it live...nor did they do a video together...

I know most people hate to hear covers of their favorite songs, but this is pretty cool.

Freddie was born on an Island in the Indian ocean somewhere I read.

Queens last great record was released in 83, correction, The Game came out in 80, my bad. Sabbaths ( in many people's minds), last great one was Born again, also an 83 release. Deep Purple made their last great one in 84, the reunion album Perfect Strangers. The Who's last good one was was Face Dances in 82. Zep ended in 80 with Bonzo's passing so hard to say what they might've done. & Yes's last good was was 90125 in 83. Stones last good hit was Waiting on a friend from 81.

the band's first (and only) US #1 hit, driving 90125 to the Top 5 and helping it sell three million units, by far Yes's most successful album. "It Can Happen", "Changes", and "Leave It" all reached top ten on Mainstream Rock Tracks 90125 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

What was it about that time? Perhaps the Planets shifted after 83 or some cosmic deal.

Now that I think about it, many would argue Priests perfect run of great albums in a row ended with 82's Screaming for Vengeance. Painkiller from 91 was decent, but they never topped the Hell Bent for Leather to Screaming for Vengeance era. Scorps never topped Blackout likewise.

                  Sorry for topic drift.

Wonder if Bon actually plays the bagpipe?

Freddie Mercury, was actually born Farroukh Bulsara, the son of Persian parents, on 5 September 1946 on the Indian Ocean island Zanzibar. For ten years he attended a boarding school near Mumbai (then Bombay) in India, where he acquired the nickname 'Freddie',

Zanzibar is near Kenya & Tanzania
