I heard Chicago schools had their first snow day in years. Maybe 12 years? I remember snow in those amounts back in the day. -
My buddy who lives up in Gurnee, Illinois just sent me this pic. Yes, that's an orange yard stick...Suffice to say he's off work today. He just finished shoveling the sidewalk! That is nuts!

We had 24 inches here when I was a freshman in college back in 94, off on Christmas break. Our break was extended another 2 weeks! My dad and I spent the first day walking around digging our neighbors, friends and relatives out. It was kind of fun, in an odd way. Something to remember, and nothing else to do!!!

Been there Done with that! I was in the Western Suburbs of Chicago in the winter of 78. Driving down streets with snow piled twice as deep as the above pictures. Walked up the snow bank beside the house to get on the room. Had to shovel 3-4' of heavy wet snow off the roof because it was starting to sag and crack the walls.
I hope it doesn't get that bad in this storm. Outlook does not look good!
Stay warm!Too many toys. Not enough space!Comment
