My Mom just called me and my Dad had gotten high-centered on his way home for lunch.
Now, here's the thing....my Dad retired in 2009 and missed working so much that he went back to work last year. All of my family is off work today and my once retired Dad insisted that he had "stuff to do at work".
My brother-in-law got out to get my Dad unstuck....so Dad could GO BACK TO WORK.
He's always been that way and I guess I have a bit of that, too.....but give me a day off and I will not think about "work", at all.Comment

Rural central Missouri checking in. Estimated 9 to 12 inches on the ground now with less than 1/4 mile visibility. I have at least one 3 foot and growing drift in my yard. We live out of town on what is probably the last county road to get plowed so I'm guessing we are housebound until Thursday...Comment

We are getting hammered here in Northern Illinois. Right now visibility is about 1/8 mile and the wind is blowing like mad!!! Lots of drifting snow. The schools have already canceled for Wednesday. We are right in the path of the worst of it. They were predicting 3-5" today with another 12" overnight. Now they say there is a chance we can get up to 20" between tonight and Wednesday!
The snow blower will be getting a work out tonight and tomorrow.

We must be neighbors, Jmass--I live in Columbia. I-70's shut down and most of the towing companies are closed, since they can't get to people. They said on KMIZ-17's site 911 calls might not get answered for a couple days. I tried shoveling, but I honestly don't know where to put the snow anymore. Also, this is our first official blizzard ever.Comment
