I couldn't find any retro bags at Albertsons but I bought two bags (one regular and one Spicy Nacho) a) because of this thread b) they were $1.99 and c) my wife's pregnant so I can get away with buying them "for her"

This reminds me of that Onion headline "Doritos Celebrates One Millionth Ingredient".

Maybe for the throwback version they'll leave out the disodium phosphate, or something.

Doritos was one of the top begged for item when I went to the store w/ my mom. I even used to have a picture of me at age 9 eating these. I'll have to get throwback bag this weekend.

Now that I think about it, I never much cared for Doritos

We did this when were kids back when the bags weren't lined with metal.

We'd open them, add Valentino sauce and cheese, pop in microwave and out comes some gooey chips.

When we lived in Mexico for a year when I was ten, we did it with Sabritas, minus the cheese.

Well, I didn't see these at the grocery store (Lucky's), but they do still have the Cap'n Crunch boxes, and some guy in front of me in the checkout line bought a 12-pack of Throwback Pepsi. If I drank soda, I woulda gotten that!

When a society gets overly nostalgic it's a sign of weak faith in the future.
I was kinda a Social Psych minor in school.

There's also a bit of authentic Deja vu in current happenings and past happenings of the late 70's.

                                Extra frigid winters
                                Economic malaise
Revolutionary happenings in the middle east (through this time it might have a better outcome then the revolution in Iran)

which might account for the current 70's retro thing.
