I am the proud owner of all 7 seasons on dvd. Watching it as an adult, I find my self enjoying James Best's little one-liners that I never paid much attention to as a kid.

It was my first "I found it" likable evening show.
Everything else was via adults.
Happy Birthday!"No. No no no no no no. You done got me talkin' politics. I didn't wanna'. Like I said y'all, I'm just happy to be alive. I think I'll scoot over here right by this winda', let this beautiful carriage rock me to sleep, and dream about how lucky I am." - Chris MannixComment

Now I feel really old...“When you say “It’s hard”, it actually means “I’m not strong enough to fight for it”. Stop saying its hard. Think positive!”Comment

I remember on Friday nights, my parents and I used to go to a little "Main Street" type place in Glenside PA. We'd get a pizza and a quart of fountain Pepsi (to go) from Your Gusto Place, a traditional bar/pizza place. While the pizza was cooking, we'd wander down to Bev's Budget Books and buy coverless or half-cover books, magazines & comics...and candy, Marvel stickers, etc. We'd go home and chow down, and then I'd head to bed and watch Dukes on a 9" (later upgraded to 13") black & white TV with an antenna. Good times.Comment

James Best is great! Not only was he that rebel singer in The Andy Griffith Show, he was in the immortal bad movie classic The Killer Shrews.Comment

After posting in this thread about James Best, I looked up his bio, and found out he was born in Kentucky, related to the Everly brothers, then moved and grew up in Corydon, Indiana, which is about 45 mins. from where I live. Very interesting info.Comment

Introduced as a mid-season replacement on CBS' Friday-night schedule, Dukes of Hazzard spends most of its first season establishing, reestablishing, and then re-reestablishing the ongoing battle of wills and wits between Hazzard County hot rodders (and cousins) Luke Duke (Tom_Wopat) and Bo Duke (John_Schneider) and comically corrupt county commissioner Boss Hogg (Sorrell_Booke), dimwitted Sheriff Roscoe P. Coltrane (James_Best), and doltish deputy Enos Strate (Sonny_Strait). When not zooming around the countryside in their souped up Dodge Charger, "The General Lee", Luke and Bo can be found in the company of moonshiner Uncle Jesse Duke (Denver_Pyle) or their wholesomely sexy cousin, Daisy Duke (Catherine_Bach). Although the plotlines of the individual episodes are the least important element of Dukes of Hazzard, it can be noted that the Duke boys' first-season adventures involve the hijacking of slot machines in order to pay the bills at a local orphanage, a desperate flight from angry mobsters in search of a hundred grand in stolen money, an attempt to convert moonshine whiskey into engine fuel, a stopover at the popular and illegal annual Hazzard Obstacle Derby, the theft of the Presidential Limousine from under the noses of the CIA, and a pair of incompetent crooks wearing Laurel & Hardy masksToo many toys.
