Gervais was on the Razor's edge at the Globes man! Funny as Hell but the Hollywood people were not so happy about it. All he did was joke about what everybody has heard as rumor anyways. Still damn funny!

I've just been watching his hosting bits and have tears running down my face. Extremely funny stuff, it makes it even better when the stars can't take the joke.

The Mel Gibson, Tim Allen, Tom Cruise and Robert Downey Jr intros were especially genius.

I thought Allen was "acting" in that clip posted above. are you telling me
ALL these actors ACTUALLY act ruffled onstage for REAL?

I find that very hard to believe.

Hmmm, hmmm, hmmm. I always say what goes around, comes around. He's ordered himself up some bad Karma that will get talked about and laughed about all too soon...at HIS expense.

Actually the Sciencetology joke may have been more likely aimed at John Travolta rather than Tom Cruise. For Cruise it has something about a gay porn star look-a-like, from what I read. Yes, it works either way, but if you just do a search on the Internet you'll find a recent trending topic in which days/weeks prior to the Golden Globes Travolta's friend Carrie Fisher (yes, THE Pricess Leia) outed him as being gay and expressed he should just come out with it. (I know, some friend.) But she stated everyone knows he engages in sex with men and not a one of his friends cares.

I thought Gervais was funny too. But it was weird how he disappeared in the latter half of the show. And then he closed the show with remarks about being an atheist, which was somewhat controversial by some back in December.

Not weird at all; that's how it always works in these award shows. The host always disappears for long periods in the second half. I was always disappointed when Billy Crystal would barely be seen in the last half when he hosted the Oscars.

Gervais was great, and there's plenty of video out there of the stars praising him afterwards. As usual it's the media judging it as harsh and thus "controversial", and running with it.

Gervais was on for an hour last nite on CNN's new Piers Morgan show. Twas excellent.

These people make millions of dollars a year for playacting, they should be able to laugh at themselves a bit, one would think any way.

Actually they make millions because people spend billions to watch them playacting. But your point is still valid
