Some interesting movies on the horizon

Johnny Depp might be playing the Wizard, in the Oz prequel and is looking to be in Dark Shadows as well. These are two I would definitely see in the theaters, especially with Depp starring in them

I LOVE Johnny Depp. I tend to think he excels in the outrageous roles the best. Anything that requires a quirky personality is his best range. I haven't seen the Tourist yet. I will though. I can't wait to see him as both Tonto and the Wizard. That will be a riot. I hope people really appreciate him. In my opinion he is one of the few truly legendary actors in our time. Especially when he's teamed with his long time director and friend, Tim Burton. Artistically one of the best visionary duos out there. There is no one like Depp, who can blend so effortlessly in the visual creations of Tim Burton. They compliment each other like no two artists I have ever seen. It will be interesting to see him with Sam Raimi. After Raimi's work on comical classics like Evil Dead, this could be an incredible team up.

Depp is just a great actor period. I agree that he seems to shine playing quirky characters in movies but he's an excellent actor and hope he doesn't continue to completely pigeon hole himself into these roles. I have also heard that he is a very nice guy and very personable. Apparently, he was in my parent company's flagship store purchasing an item (they get a lot of famous people in there since it is in Hollywood) and they said he was the nicest "famous" person who they have served. Not pretentious at all, didn't want to draw attention to himself, or be treated any differently than a regular customer (apparently they have a special area that is closed off to the public where they take famous celebs because huge crowds will come into the store and gawk).

If not longer. Most people don't appreciate just how good of an actor he is. He is one of those rare actors who can totally turn off he own personality and adopt a different one for a role. That's not easy to do and VERY few can pull it off like he can. Maybe NOBODY else ever could.
