We already had it once this year for two weeks before Kentucky took it from us. Now we have Ole Miss (pretty easy win) and ARK (Gonna be a toughy), plus the SEC Championship.

KU will have to play OK most likely in the Big XII championship. That will be a very hard win for you. OK owes KU one from wht they did in 2003 (even though they still went to the NC and got their butt whipped by us).

I live in Oklahoma City and our Sports Radio is blown away by the fact that KU's Football is ranked as high as KU's Basketball at this point and time.

I watched them tonight against OSU (who has no Defense) and I was impressed by the way their Defense handled that high-powered Offense at home.

By the way, we love Mark Mangino and if we all weren't on a collision course, it would be even more exciting.

You guys just gotta get by Mizzou and it will be KU's first shot at a Big XII title. That alone is impressive enough.

That was Kansas State, not Kansas.

However, you did whip our butts in the National Championship game.

        And we owe YOU one.

Not so much because of that game, but because Les Miles is the biggest sack of doodie to every don a team cap.

I was aware of that fact. It was a big part of my point.

I just realized LSU won the SEC West tonight without even playing a SEC game. Bama, Auburn, and ARK lost today, making LSU the Western Division Champs!!

On second thought, while LSU was the better team and deserved to win, can we call a 21-14 victory a "butt whipping"?

Boise State will end the speculation about Hawaii on November 23rd.

I was being sarcastic DUH! And while the game you're discussing may not have been a butt whipping (agreed) they did win and that's what goes down in the books. This has been one of the craziest years in college football in a long while.

                      From http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2004_BC...pionship_Game:
'LSU's claim to the title was not the product of BCS politics. Their #1 ranked defense held the country's most prolific offense, which had averaged 45.2 points and 461 yards per game, to 154 total yards and just one touchdown until the closing minutes of the game. Heisman Trophy winning QB Jason White, who completed only 13 of his 37 passing attempts for a mere 102 yards, was sacked seven times and intercepted twice."

That is 52 yards rushing and 102 yards passing for OK, compared to LSU's 159 yards rushing and 153 yards passing, and LSU ran six less plays than OK. OK's 2.2 yards per play vs LSU's 4.9 yards per play.

Looked like a butt whipping to me.

I'm sorry. It was probably obvious that you were being sarcastic and I missed it.
It's just that I have heard a lot of "sportscasters" wondering the same thing: "Where's the love for Hawaii?" and I can't believe anyone would even consider them given their schedule. I should have stopped to think that no member here could be a half-wit like those that make that argument. (You know I went back and looked and it was Damian I was responding to, but I'll go ahead and apologize to you both.)

As to LSU's winning that game being what was important, I went out of my way to make that point. I hold no grudges against LSU for winning that game, in fact, I couldn't believe Oklahoma got to play for a National Championship that year since they didn't even win their conference. LSU winning was at it should be since it would have been ridiculous to have a National Champ that wasn't even a conference champ.

I totally understand that Hawaii has the softest schedule around, but that's not there fault, they were given that and they are making the best of it.So you have to kind of feel for them

These kind of discussions are so much more fun around a campfire with some cold brews. It's easier to take statements the way they were intended when face-to-face.
