Wow, I've got a ton of nicknames:

Captain/Cap (Real first name is Kirk)
Buddy - which my younger brothers have called me for decades
      Donkey/Donkeyhoatie - my online/literary alias
Ninja Gurk - by my high school friends due to my penchant for dressing in a ninja outfit for no apparent reason
Roids - back from my weightlifting days (last name has "reut" in it which is pronounced like "royt", plus I was a beast back in those days without using any illegal stuff)

I will eviscerate anyone who calls me Ricky.
I was always the shortest kid on the block, and have hated this "nickname" ever since.
Now, I know what you're thinking: "let's call him that from now on."
        Well, what can I say?
Hmmm. How about: I have a large hunting knife, and enjoy traveling the globe to surprise people with a visit....

Seriously, that name unleashes my Dark Side....

During my first deployment to Kuwait, my Army Ranger roommate from TX started calling me 'Hoover', since I reminded him of the character in 'Animal House'..

My wife and I were catching a retrospect special on 'Animal House' a few weeks ago, and I gleefully reminded her that's what my roomie called me, in jest of course.

          I actually liked it..!!

The actor James Widdoes described his character as "Woefully incompetent, but extremely charming.."

I refuse to answer that question on the grounds that my answer might tend to incriminate me...

Well, OK. VERY few people call me this anymore, but it is Deke. I got this label many moons ago (1985 to be exact) when my co-worker at the time came in and told me that David Letterman's top 10 list the night before was "Top 10 names ELVIS had in movies". And all 10 of the answers were Rick. Apparently he is named Rick in quite a few movies, although I have only seen a few. My co-worker knew that I was a big Elvis fan so he thought this was pretty funny. I replied that he had many other names, and in fact, I had just watched "Loving You" a few nights before where his name was Deke Rivers. My co-worker thought this was unbelievably funny and nicknamed me Deke on the spot. Like I said, only one or two people call me that anymore, but one of them is my boss.

I get Scottie quite a bit as well, especially from the people who know I am a Trek fan

I have had lots of nicknames throughout my life given to me by various people:

Sharry: my real name is Sharon (only called that by my family). My mom called me Shari as a kid, and the spelling got changed.

                Muffin: also my mom

Muddah: my dad, and he NEVER called me Sharon or Sharry. It was Muddah til the day he died.

Tweedle: my sister Drenette. She was Tweedle Dum and I was Tweedle Dee.

                Butterhead: my brother Darryl

Mouth O'Mighty: my 2 brothers Craig and Barry

Sharry Baby or Sharry Berry : various co-workers

HardyGirl: self-given for my love of Shaun Cassidy and The Hardy Boys

MissionMagic: my user name on the Rick Springfield board
"Do you believe, you believe in magic?
'Cos I believe, I believe that I do,
Yes, I can see I believe that it's magic
If your mission is magic your love will shine true."

A lot of my friends call me Pops - partially because I like a lot of old things, partially because I can be a bit of a curmudgeon, and partially because I'm slightly senile.

                    Funny story ...

When I was in grade school some of the kids used to call me Pharaoh because my last name sounds a little like it.

By the time I got to high school the older kids changed it to King Tut (refering to the chubby Batman badguy)

                    It didn't last long though

Do slurs and obscenities count as nick names? Then no, I didn't really have any in school.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...
