Exercise helps too, until you stop exercising. Focus on the reasons you quit, like family and kids, or whatever. Also, work on some customs, or cleaning your toys or something that keeps your hands busy. (for more than a couple min. )
"Steel-like jaws clacked away, each bite slashing flesh from my body - I used my knife and my hands, and when they were gone, my bloody stumps - and yet the turtles came."
It's been 4 years for me and trust me I almost had the be rushed to the hospital then scared me enough to quit cold turkey...I tried the patch before but it didn't work for me...It fell good finally freedom after 18 years....
I remember when I quit smoking. I went cold turkey and it was horrible. I was cranky and very irritable. Like all things, it will eventually pass. Just hang in there, your making the right decision..

Thanks for the words of encouragement Mego pals! I am honestly amazed at how the nicotine really does such damage to your overall physiological / neurological make up. I know I'm gonna kick it'sass this time but I hate being so angry. I can handle sad... goofy.. antsy... hell I don't even mind the insomnia but being a mean, lashing out prick isjust not my style normally.
But despite all of this I do thank you fellows and girls for being my pals and support group.
Good for you. I know so many people who have given up and not gone near a ciggie for 2 years and feel wonderful for it. The first month is tough but once you go through that you'll never look back. My dad had a leg amputated due to smoking, and eventually got him. It's a downer but that's what it does to most.
You're doing an amazing thing, don't let it get the better of you.
