    Batman (1966 Series) 45th Anniversary

Debuted Jan. 12, 1966....45 years later newspaper and internet writers still start all articles about superheroes with the obiligatory "Zap! Bam! Pow!"

HUGE TREMENDOUS influence on me ...But is that good or bad?

As many have said, the '60s were marked by the "Three B's"..

    Bond, Beatles, and Batman..

I always embarrass my wife when I mention my life was based on their teachings..

Me too! I love the show and love the Batmobile even more.

And I still think Julie Newmar was by far the hottest Catwoman.

Julie Newmar was the HOTTEST for a few reasons..:

          1) The SUIT..
          2) Adam's reaction to her.. (accenting 'woman' when he exclaimed.."Cat..WOMAN"..)
          3) Their enormous chemistry and timing, probably the best next to Adam and Burt Ward.
          4) Julie's playful purring and intentions for Robin ("oh.., we'll just have him killed")
          5) Um.. Did I mention the SUIT..?

I'm BLESSED by buying the 3yr DVD set (from someone here..?? Can't recall who..) a few months back, taped off cable.

It's been outstanding, many eps I didn't even recall.

And for all the years I had to watch it fuzzy or in b&w..?, it's absolutely perfect! Don't need High Def to love it..

Piece of trivia about that suit, Dave. Julie took it home and altered it so it would fit her curves better. Hence the reason you boys drooled all over your sneakers!

I'm so happy this is such an iconic show and its love has lasted 45 years. Happy Anniversary Caped Crusaders!

I think my favorite scene in that entire series was with King Tut after he was captured and was standing in Commissioner Gordon's office. I think it's one of the funniest exchanges of dialogue in television history. I still laugh hard every time I see it. Here's the scene on Youtube. Go to the 6:51 mark and watch from there. I think it's hysterical. Especially when Tut says, "Oh you make me sick." That's just classic.

Anyone see the TV movie "Return To the Batcave"? "Pay the man, Burt."

I've STILL got to buy that DVD..

For all the shortcomings, Adam's and Burt's banter and dry wit in that movie was the best..!!

I know Dawn Wells was one of the producers, she did SUCH a great job on the Gilligan retrospect movie.

Julie Newmar was my first crush ever at the age of 5...Didn't quite understand it but to quote Adam himself she caused "stirring" in the utility belt I didn't understand why he wouldn't jump at the chance to ditch Robin and run off with Catwoman.

The TV Batmobile to me is the be-all, end-all Holy Grail of movie/TV vehicles...if only I had the scratch I'd own one and drive it all around town
