They are usually party finger sandwiches... but you can usually go to an Argentinian or Uruguayan bakery and buy them by the pound. They melt in your mouth like butter!

Oh my goodness...those look like they were made in Heaven!

My Uruguayan neighbor has not told me about these...I'm going to demand he hooks me up...

Since it's located right off one of Alameda's bridges...it gets a lot of Alameda residents crossing into Oakland...just to eat there...lol.

          Hec,

If I thought they'd survive the trip, I'd send you a few pounds of sandwiches from this little place I know in Miami!

Count me in too. Both of the Quiznos in my area closed a few years ago. I loved the chicken, bacon on Chibata bread. Do the Quiznos in your area still have Chibata bread? Ours stopped serving it a while before they closed.

                Depending on moods, it's a toss-up between:

                1) PB&J (chunky, strawberry preserves, not jelly)
                2) Chicago Dog, especially if you use 'jumbo dogs'
                3) Classic bacon, lettuce, tomato with mayo
                4) Pattymelt, which I couldn't say for a while after dating a really-weird psychopath named 'Patty'..

I don't know that I have a favorite, but depending on where the sandwich came, that is, whether it's home made or store bought I usually go with certain types. I'm a vicitm of habit I guess. For instance, once a week my family and I go to a deli-like chain called Eegee's (they might be an Arizona based type chain) and maybe we'll fit a Subway visit in the same week too. ALL of Eegee's sandwiches are great except I don't like their Tuna. Subway, on the other hand, I tend to have liked almost everything they make expect....well, their meatball is weak.

My preferred home made sandwich are BLT, tuna, or turkey types. My household usually stays away from ham.

I'm not a big fan of Subway.

The ones around here are very stingy with the inside stuff and you wind up basically getting a bread sandwich.

I totally understand. I constantly have to ask Subway to put more black olives and onions on. I mean, why on earth would someone think 3 tiny, thin slivers of onion would suffice on a footlong? Does that even taste like anything?

I've been told this by Subway workers, not sure if it's true, but Subway is suppossed to allow the customer unlimited vegies on a sandwich within reason for no extra cost. On the meat, if someone wants extra or "heavy" there's supposed to be an additional cost. I don't know why some people in the food industry don't get this, but one would think the numero uno goal would be to make food the way you would want to eat. I guess the world is full of people with "I just work here and don't care" attitudes.

It's a francise and I sadly had one that used to charge extra for veggies just like meat. :-(

The tip jar is what makes me nervous. If I could afford to tip I wouldnt be getting teh 5 buck meatball special for dinner.
