People were killed in greater number and in more public fashion in the dark ages...This is nothing new. They killed Kennedy 50 years ago just like this. Nothing strange is going on. Just same ole killing.

Out of surgery now, and the doc is optimistic she will recover. Far too early to tell to what degree. She was responsive to commands before surgery, so that's fed the optimism.

Of course many other people were shot and killed. Yet another demonstration of how much damage one deranged person can do in an open society.

I live in Tucson and the local news has said that one of the deaths is a 9 year old. This is bad enough but the fact that a child was killed just has me speechless.

Thankfully, she's still alive, but who knows how her brain may have been damaged...

In the interest of fairness, Fox News wasn't the only one who reported she died. I think NPR was among the first. That's just the nature of the 24/7 news cycle these days... get the news out there first and vet it later.
