    Custom McFarlane Sports Figures

Has anyone here ever customized a McFarlane sports figure before? I found an old thread from toys2cool about a custom Bears player he purchased, so I thought I'd show some of mine. The guy I've been ordering from has an amazing eye for detail. I just send him a pic of the player, tell him if I want the player in a Home or Away uniform and if I want the uniform to be dirty or clean. Also, I can add anything special that the player may have worn during a specific game. (I ordered a Reggie Bush piece for a friend that included the SC logo on the football, the Rose Bowl patch on his jersey and the stupid 619 black-out strips under his eyes. Reggie may be a punk, but that piece came out amazing.)

UCLA's lone Heisman winner: Gary "The Great One" Beban
Wanted to make sure he had the classic two-bar facesmask and the lowtop Adidas.

The Irish Killer himself: Anthony Davis
Real nice detail on A.D.'s throwback uniform, including his old T-bar facesmak.

    Troy Polamalu
I picked up Troy as a Christmas gift for an SC buddy of mine. The guy I commissioned even included the clear Oakley shield that Troy wore on his helmet.

Those are pretty cool. I have seen customized McFarlanes on Ebay before but never thought there was a big enough market that someone customizes them on commission.

McFarlane has wiser up and is now putting out college players. I am sure he will be doing players from the past soon.

The standard price is about $10 less than the amount in your "vintage post".

The next custom piece I'll be ordering is a Navy Roger Staubach with the Jolly Rogers helmet that Navy wore to defeat Army in '62. The Chinese symbols interpret as "Defeat" on one side and "Army" on the other.

              Let's see McFarlane do that!

That is a cool helmet and pretty bold for some pretty bitter rivalries. If I'm not mistaken, Navy has pretty much owned Army on the football field over the years. In the past few years, Navy can sometimes hang with some of the best football teams in the country.
