What's the best solution for cleaning battery acid off old toys?

I did a little research and found Baking soda works pretty well. I also found one sight that insisted 3 in 1 oil takes it right off. Interesting... Just wondering if anyone else has some good techniques for cleaning these old battery compartments.

I never tried it but the oil idea seems like it should work good without hurting anything.

      I've always used acetone.

regular pepsi or coke works wonders too. I used to use that on my old rc cars if the batteries exploded in the compartment

            Hmmmm....

Water and baking soda. Toothbrush. Scrub scrub scrub. Oil works, but can do bad things to plastic. Coke is good too.

Yeah, I was gonna say Coke as well. I've used it in car batteries before. Eats right off. Kinda makes you wonder what it does to our stomachs
