Who's your favorite of the three ?

Earth Wind and Fire , The Commodores or Kool and the Gang

This is really tough one for me .....

I'd have to say ......

I dunno, I can't decide - love them all

Not that hard at all...Earth, Wind, and Fire. Hands down the best of those three R & B Groups. Also one of the Coolest LP Covers of all time:



Phillip Bailey, and Maurice White great vocals and just a great band with a great Horns section.

That is tough...I really like all of them too, but I think the fave would be Kool & the Gang.

Without a doubt for me it's EWF just love the music!

Earth, Wind, & Fire is the only REAL Band up there...so...Hands down, Earth, Wind, & Fire.

...but early Commodores (before Lionel Richie thought his dookie didn't stink) is a very close 2nd.

Kool & the Gang...Good when they came out, but VERY dated...can't really listen to their stuff anymore, though J.T. Taylor had a GREAT solo album after they broke up.

Definitely EW&F. I just broke out an old concert on DVD and watched it the other day. Great tunes.

That's pretty much my thoughts.

K&TG have the pop music including disco and nasty funk elements for me throughout their career...

Commodores have the pop thing straight up

And EW&F seem to have the smoothest most textured pop songwriting

They all 3 cover a lot of ground in the "hooky" R&B category...about equally.... to me.
