      :
Him and Will Farrell absolutely wore out their welcomes.

Depp is over the limit too.

Perhaps...but Depp is a MUCH better actor than Black or Farrell.....

Depp is an AMAZING actor...he just keeps getting better with time.

I took my kids to see Gulliver's Travels. They liked it....Me, not so much.

I saw True Grit tonight. Now THAT was a great flick. Intelligent, witty dialogue - interesting characters - a Cohen brothers treat.

I think most people figure they'll go look for the Ted Danson version from a few years back.

The Three Worlds of Gulliver (1960) is the best

                Can't beat that one

Wow, that is a bomb. I was indifferent to it. My son wants to see it, but it's clearly a renter. I can take Jack Black in small doses. Much more interested in Kung Fu Panda II than this.

That chart is deceptive because Gulliver's Travels opened on Xmas Day, whereas the other openers like Fockers and True Grit debuted on Dec. 22. So it's not as bad for Gulliver's as it looks.

                      Mmm...interesting...

Gulliver's Travels was the other new nationwide release for Christmas, and it opened on Saturday, ranking eighth with $6.3 million in two days at 2,546 locations. While it is uncommon for movies to open on Saturday, there are comps from Christmas 2004 and 1999: Fat Albert grabbed $10 million (or close to $13 million adjusted for ticket price inflation) in its two-day launch in 2004, while Galaxy Quest blasted off with $7 million (or the equivalent of $11 million adjusted) in 1999. Gulliver's Travels was also a far cry from past Christmas comedies Night at the Museum and Bedtime Stories, despite trying to be like them by casting a comedic actor (Jack Black) in a fantastical family comedy. This time, the movie's rote origin rang through in its lackadaisical marketing (for example, the tagline was "Black Is the New Big") that banked on the 3D illusion as a crutch. Gulliver distributor 20th Century Fox's Saturday exit polling indicated that 55 percent of the audience was parents and their children, 53 percent was female and 53 percent under 25 years old. Gulliver's release included 958 locations presenting it in the 3D, and they accounted for 50 percent of the gross.

It's really not bringing in the people. My theater has the movie and most the time the seats are empty. Even tonight and it was cheap Tuesday. Nothing about it really interested me and I'm starting to hate Jack Black unless he's a panda bear.

He's a great supporting player but Hollywood insists he be the star of everything, despite his inability to open a film.
