I am amazed that a Sherlock Holmes sequel is coming out already. I think that's smart.
Conversely, look at how the X-Files sequel was a flop after such a disappointing delay from a hugely popular first movie.
Anyone else annoyed at how Hollyweird takes 3 years to produce most sequels?
So it's nice this is an exception. As a child when Roger Moore's 007 movies came out every year I'd love for successful franchises to do that more and more...you know, beyond just the just Twilight movies (which I don't watch) and the Harry Potter ones (which I do.)Comment

I'm both looking forward to and dreading the Smurfs movie. I have my doubts Hollywood can pull off something as innocent and sweet as the Smurfs without trying to twist it into something cynical and or a ham fisted message movie.
Moving the story to modern day New York is a big warning flag to me as well as the numerous times the release date has been pushed back. The CGI designs of the Smurfs aren't bad and Hank Azaria looks surprising like Gargamel in costume, so hopefully they do get it. I really hope it doesn't suck.
