    Lee Majors Star Wars Appearance

I know this has been covered here before, but I went to the Star Wars exibit in Chicago yesterday with all the props and such. Took a nice close up shot of the SMDM figure in the landspeeder that was actually used in a shot for the film. Just thought it cool seeing it in preson and closeup.

Yeah. Saw it over here about three years ago. It's just great to see a childhood fave toy used as a prop in a fave film. It was a highlight of my day seeing that.
I remember last time it was brought up the general feeling was that the 'Luke' on the left wasn't a SMDM but i'm still convinced that both figures are Steve Austin.

Good to see it again - thanks Dave, and I hope you enjoyed the rest of the show. The matte paintings were also a big highlight - were they there?

wow, that looks like a kid's school project, I had no idea how cheap it would look.
          thanks for showing us though.

I always wondered how R-2 never fell off the back while they were driving at high speed.

I think you guys are right on the Luke. Hard to tell with his head tilted down but his nose sure looks the same.

I saw the exhibit last year in Portland. I ended up taking about 70 pictures at it.

What were some of your other favorite items there?

There were a few of the Matte paintings, but not many. A few years back they did a similar tour that hit Toledo for a while and they had a lot more of the matte paintings and I saw them there. That was at the Toledo Art Museum, and I think that tour was "The Art of Star Wars" or something like that.

Russ, I took tons of pics this time as well. It will be cool reference material for future customs.

Hard to pic a fav, but I'm always in awe in the presence of the Original Darth Vader. I think the costumes are cool, and probably my favorite in general. And although the new films will never be to me what the originals are, the lifesize Destroyer Droid was pretty kick butt.

Oh yeah that Vader suit was Awesome!

I tried to get a nice picture of the destroyer droid, but between the case, camera flash and dim lights I just couldn't get a good shot. I was shocked at how small the real land speeder was, it'd been a go-kart for Darth Vader if he were to drive it
