    Man I LOVE he Temptations!

Spent the morning capturing the Temptations Anthology 3 album set/ transferring it from vinyl to mp3. Man! I'm always loved these guys but listening to this particular collection is simply wonderful!

I've been pondering getting back into the customizing groove for 2011 and I think one of my first endeavors will be a set of he Classic Five line up of the Tempt's.

Any other Temptation junkies in the mix around these part's?

Oops just caught the title typo before as I was submitting. While I love these fella's "he" temptations aren't really my thing. Just for the record.

I love all sorts of temptations. Good food, electronic gizmos...

Wait a minute, you mean the singing group, not actual things that temp you! My bad

If you haven't had the chance read the new bio book on the group "Ain't Too Proud To Beg" I must highly recommend it. Very insightful. Amazon.com: Aint Too Proud to Beg: The Troubled Lives and Enduring Soul of the Temptations (9780470261170): Mark Ribowsky: Books

I've seen the mini-series a bunch of times too, so sad.

My older brother is a Motown junkie, so I cut my teeth on this stuff. Love me some Temps!

I have a question .... In the miniseries when they were talking to Barry Gordy in the bathroom Otis and Blue sang, "Pecos Kid"

I've tried to find that song on youtube forever.

              Was it ever released ?

Actually it was release as a single circa 1959 as "Otis Williams and the Distant's" but no copies are known to exist. If found it would be worth a boat load. Me I'd love to hear that actual recording

The book I referred talks more about the song and how it was laid out / broke down as well as how they performed it. I'm letting my producer borrow it today but when I get it back I'll be glad to send it your way if you like.

Thanks for the offer but i'd honestly wind up never reading it.

I'm not much of a book reader

Had the pleasure of seeing The Temptations, The Four Tops, and The Spinners at Jones Beach back in 1990 and it was just an amazing show. Unfortunately by that time I think Ali Woodson was back in the group but there was no Ruffin or Kendricks. They were still fantastic. For me the highlight was definitely The Four Tops. Levi was still singing at the top of his game. My friend, who is very good friends with the Tops, got me and my bro back stage to meet Abdul "Duke" Fakir. One of the nicest and most down to earth people you'd ever meet.

And because of all their tears,
Their eyes can't hope to see
                        The beauty that surrounds them
                        Isn't it a pity".

The Temptations, The Jackson Five, Earth Wind & Fire, The Commodores, The Gap Band, The Ohio Players, etc...what happened to the great black R & B groups?

Nothing but rap and hip hop now...I sure miss the good 'ol days.
