Thoughts on Jets coach cheap shot

I am not a Jets or a Dolphins fan but was shocked when I saw this on the highlight reel.

Apparently, there is additional news coming out about it insinuating that this was purposely set up and not just a poor spur of the moment decision. My personal opinion is this should result in immediate termination. This is just ridiculous.

I think he should have been fired on the spot and the head coach fined as well. The head coach should be responsible as well for everyone on his coaching staff. It was childish and really made the team look bad, especially happening so soon after the head coach made a fool of himself the previous week by mouthing off to the Patriots and then getting his arse handed to him. I think there was alot of good will given to the Jets after last years surprise playoff run with their first year QB. But the way in which matters have played out this year, I think it's safe to say the bloom is off the rose.

When I first heard this reported and debated, I was of the opinion that any of us, at any time, can get caught up in the moment and do something stupid. Especially when it comes to competition. However, setting something like that up and involving others shows an abundance of stupidity and makes it easy to say, "See yaaaaaaaa'.".

Yeah, that's premeditation and opens up a whole other can of worms. I doubt he will keep his job.

Can him. He's just lucky he didn't get his knee cap ripped out from the force of the runner. Pics of the guy shows that this dude appears to be a totally cocky ****** to his core. The sad part is that most likely if he is canned he'll wind up coaching on the high school or college level.

the only reason he hasnt been fired yet is if he does get fired he will spill his guts about what else the jets are doing

I'm a Pats fan and really can't stand the Jets but firing him is way too much. It was stupid, but no way he should be fired any more than Richard Seymour should have been for punching Rothlesberger a couple of weeks ago. They were both fined $25,000 dollars for wrongly hitting/tripping a player. If the fines had been made relative to their annual income's Seymour would have been fined $1.7 million. Plus Alosi got suspended four games which is gonna be 25% of his annual salary. It was stupid but no way should he be paying this kinda price for what he did.

He should be fired, what if this had ended the players career? He should not be able to have a chance to do this to anyone else.

Stupid is making a bad, on the spot, decision to do something stupid. Doing what he allegedly did by lining people up to interfere with a player is premeditated cheating and is cause for loss of job, IMO.

I'm a life long fin fan and its was cheap as it comes, at first I thought he should be fired on the spot, but I have softened on that and think he got what he deserves "under the jets game plan"

Also Woody Hayes game to mind rotfl

I'm not saying what the coach did was right but sometimes the players need to be careful when they go along the sidelines like that. Never know what kind of bone headed thing will happen.

They brought this exact thing up today on Boston sports radio. For those not aware of how serious sports radio here gets take every where else in the world and multiply by 20. It has more listeners than the music stations. WEEI is broadcast on 4 different frequencies in Boston, Providence RI, Springfield MA, and Maine. We're really serious, we hate the Jets, and most think he's being over punished for this.

If you watch any game you will see exactly what they did, done on every sideline. They've got a ton of video of other teams sidelines. There is a box, much like the coaches box in baseball, that they are supposed to stand in. They were not but that is not uncommon. It has become a topic only because of what happened.

I can't believe I'm defending the Jets! The lining up and where they were standing is not unseen. It truly was just a stupid impulse thing. He was an idiot, but it was hardly the worst thing that's happened in football. Fine him and let him get on with his life.

I can't wait to see what they do to Favre if they decide he sent lude pictures to that Jet assistant. Now that's a premeditated dumb *** thing to do for a married guy that has a wife battling cancer at home. That decision should come down in a couple of days.
