    Hmmmm....

The prevasive Cyberpunk-esque sense of forboding. I guess some of it spilled over from Detroit.

To Quote Moe Szylak: "Lay offa Detroit.... them people are livin' in Mad Max times."

If there's a bright center of the Universe, I'm in the dump farthest from it.
It's like Germany, a great place to live, just a pity that there are so many Germans.

Last Sunday, I took my dogs out for a morning walk, to the vending machine that sells bread. This machine is just out there, on the sidewalk. As I'm about to load coins in it, the owner comes by and says "I can't come this close to food products with a dog".
Well, a great Sunday morning to you, too, Bread Facist Guy!

And this, my friends, describes my home town....
      .

      .
"When things are at their darkest, it's a brave man that can kick back and party."

topping most of the "bad" lists.
being number 3 in the most tattooed cities list.

Clowns. My town has way too many freakin' clowns.

Our town was established by Dr. Melvil Dewey the inventor of the Dewey Decimal System.

            It's known by two nicknames:
            1. Town of Murals
            2. The Caladium Capital of the World

But our dirty little secret is clowns.

Sure, we have 29 fresh water lakes, stocked to the gills with fish (pun intended), multiple festivals, Christmas parades, county fairs, and all that small town fare... but it's balanced by the fact that we have the highest clowns per capita ratio than anyother place would dare. We have a local clown school. Retired folks volunteer at local hospital in Clown attire. We have a mural dedicated to clowns. There are over 25 Clown standees leading the way into downtown. We have freakin' clowns! That just ain't right.

              Harrison, AR in a nutshelll....

Small but safe. Not much crime outside of meth.

The people are very lazy and complacent.

Politics and "status" rule the roost.

Want to be more and bigger but honestly unwilling to work together on ANYTHING until someone else does it and then of coourse they want their photo op.

If it wasn't for the "safe" aspect I would never live here. And honestly with all of those other points I'm ready to walk away anyway. Too many hypocrites, liars and backstabbers.

              Jim's tired of Harrison, AR.

Sorry for being a downer, but at least I'm an honest travel planner
