When I was 16 my world came crashing down. My uncle Bobby died tragically while serving in the Army in Germany. My uncle and I were very close so needless to say I was devistated. Right after his death, his family, Wife originally from Korea and two kids, Junior age 4 and Joyce age 2 came to live with us for a year. I grew really close with junior during that time trying to shelter him from his father's death. We did everything together. I was only 16 but took on the role of his father. After a year with us my uncle's wife decieded to move to the midwest where she had friends. I was shocked. Junior was my life. I thought I would have him around to help and take care of for a long time. They left and life went on. I often thought of Junior and Joyce and wondered how they were doing. I regretted not staying in touch with Junior. At 17 I actually felt like a parent who lost a child. Fastforward to last week. I get a myspace message from my sister which said "John, I think I found our cousin Joyce". I check it out and it turns out IT'S HER! I send her a message and lo and behold she is happy to hear from me. I asked about Junior and find out he died of an aggressive form of cancer in his early 20's. This really saddens me and I didn't know what to say. Joyce looks a lot like my mom and she has two kids. She lives in Oklahoma and she is coming down to see us next month. Right now I'm very saddened about Junior but I'm glad I found that little two year old I last saw boarding a plane 24 years ago. Please don't offer me sympathy for Junior's death. I will deal with it and finding Joyce helps. Joyce said Junior remembered our time together fondly and had great memories of our time together. This helps me out. Thank each and every one of you for being my friends and letting me share something both joyous and painful with you.

You know, this is quite an amazing world we live in. Imagine, finding a lost loved one, on myspace. With so many tilting at the evil windmill of myspace, it nice to hear something positive.
The internet is an amazing tool.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
