Just saw this film tonight and aside from the annoying kid it was pretty good. Maybe it could've used more story but still was a good fantasy sea adventure picture. The action climax was pretty scary. I would be careful about bringing young children.

although I have watched, and own DVD copies of the first 2 movies, they really come across as rather stiff and without depth. I have read the entire series of books as well and can say that the movies just don't capture the feel, if you know what I mean.
I will wait for the DVD release on this one as well. If nothing else, my youngest likes watching the movies
