Infinite Toys For Tots Contest & Toy Drive

It's the holiday season and most of us here are very lucky. We collect toys, we give ourselves better Christmases every day than some people unfortunately are able to get at this magical time of the year. So we at InfiniteHollywood.com want to give back and have devised a contest to help encourage everyone to remember those less fortunate this year. It's the Infinite Toys For Tots drive!

Santa unfortunately can't do it all, but with a little help from folks like you and me, he can deliver tons of toys to boys and girls who are less fortunate all across the country. That's where you come in at.

Take a picture of yourself donating to a Toys for Tots drop off box. These include the Toys for Tots bins at local Toys R' Us locations, as well as other areas. I will be posting a collage of the pictures here before Christmas, but if you'd like I can blur out your face or you can wear a clever disguise. Please note that when you email your entrance, say if you'd like your face seen or not.

The second option is to send proof of an online cash donation to their website (they do send you a email receipt that can be forwarded).

All entries must be emailed to [email protected]!

Everyone who shows proof of them donating to Toys For Tots, will be entered to win a prize. What sort of prize? Well we've got some great ones lined up, including a $75 Visa Gift Card for the Grand Prize, plus a $40 Gift Card to BigBadToyStore.com as a second prize! That's not all, we've got plenty of smaller prizes that will be given out to random entrants, just as a way to say thanks.

We're not encouraging people to give just to get the prizes, but we are hoping that if you're thinking about giving this year that the contest will push you over the edge to go ahead and do it. Anyone is free to enter and we'd really like to get a bunch of entrants so we can show the world just how kind the toy collecting community really is.

For the complete contest, rules, regulations and details please visit: Infinite Hollywood: Toys For Tots Contest

A special thanks to Brian and the kindness of the Mego Museum for letting me post this here.

Thanks to all who have donated thus far, but there is still time for those who haven't. We're accepting entries until the 31st of this month! Many Toys for Tots locations are still collecting toys.

If you're not sure of a location in your area to donate, go to Marine Toys for Tots Foundation and enter your information. Every state has hundreds of locations to donate.

Conversely, you can donate cash online. They take every sort of form of payment, including PayPal. Forward the receipt to the email address above and you can also be entered in the contest. A lot of people are choosing to enter this way. Every donation counts, no matter if its only a $5 or $10 amount. The idea is to help needy kids. Every little bit goes towards that.

Still time to send in an online donation! I'd really like to get some Mego Museum guys in on this! So here's the deal, donate online to Toys for Tots in any amount and forward your receipt to the email address listed above. You're going to have a great chance at one of our two top prizes and if we get enough donations I may even send a little something out to everyone who entered to say thanks. Not to mention random runner-up prizes.

I'm practically begging to give this stuff away. So go help some less fortunate kids this year and win big prizes! It's super easy!

Yesterday I took my kids to the mall to see Santa and as we were making our way through the mall we passed by a toys for tots booth with US Marines working the tables and my daughter said to me "Look Dad there are men dressed up like solders over there. Why are they here?" so as I was telling her what they were here for we were right there in front of a Toys r Us Express so she asked me if we could go in and get something for them so someone else can have a Christmas present. So we went in and my kids picked out some gifts that they said they would like so they were sure some other kids would like them as well. We took the toys back to the Toy for Tots stand and my kids put them in the boxes and told the Marines to have a Merry Christmas. When we were at the Toy store it was the first time my kids didnt ask me for 1 thing for themselves I really think after I told them what Toys for Tots was about they got it. Christmas is a time for giving and helping others out.

My sister is the Marine in charge of Toys 4 tots in S.Florida, there's good news...she says they've collected so much that all the kids on the list in S.Florida have received something and they still have extra's, so she made me call my wife at work cause she works in one of the biggest and best children's hospitals in the nation "Miami Children's" as a nurse and they're bring in a truck load for the kids there

I'm really proud of my sister, she hasn't stopped working for the last 2 months non-stop to make this happen

You can unsticky this now. Thanks for stickying it and putting it up here at the Museum. Unfortunately no one from the Mego Museum participated in our contest, but we got some good donations from other folks anyway. Hopefully we can get some MM guys in on the action next year.

People shouldn't be ashamed of donating to a charity, they should be proud.

All donations could have been confidential, as so many were. Even photos could have remained confidential. I think it's a lot easier for someone to say "oh yeah I totally donated" than to actually show proof of some sort. Both winners were fine with having their names and/or faces mentioned publically. Which is great. I'm amazed at how many folks will post photos of themselves doing obscene things on the internet, but ask them to post something nice and suddenly they're private people. Boggles the mind.

Not saying either of you are in this instance, but trust me the rules were in place for a reason. Ultimately in order for a contest like this to work, we needed proof. Sadly as is often the case, people simply saying they donated, isn't feasable. Because lots of people say they donate to lots of things, but don't really. Thankfully lots of folks were kind enough to send along receipts and some great stores of their local collections. I do wish we could have gotten more photos, but such is life. We raised a fair amount of money and matched those donations privately, so we were able to help out. Which ultimately is all I cared about, helping less fortunate kids.

^ I can see your point of view, but don't necessarily agree with it.
