John Lennon-Gone 30 years Today

I was reading some articles.

There's people around (Lennon fans) that think Chapman is being treated unfairly because Lennon was a celeb.

They say if he mudered anyone else he would have been set free long ago.

Wonder if they want him set free so they can go get him

Well, the interesting thing about Chapman (more so, NYC laws..), was that despite it being premeditated, he wasn't found guilty of 1st Degree Homicide since Lennon wasn't a government official..

As bizarre as this seems, you can confirm this on Google..

I was only 6-years-old at the time. Although, I do remember it and remember my dad standing in front of the television watching intently, that evening of the 8th. He was/is a big Beatles fan (as am I).

Such a tragic loss.

PS. Today I read that James Taylor did an interview with the BBC last night. He said that on the 7th of December, 1980, he was stopped in the subway at 72nd Street by Mark David Chapman. He was talking crazy, James said and that Chapman mentioned that he thought John Lennon was interested in what he had to say. James Taylor and Carly Simon lived in the building next to the Dakota at the time. James heard the 5 shots that evening and thought the police had just shot someone.

They had a real nice time line history of him on the radio today,and had some clips of Rolling Stones interviews with him.

Elvis' death a few years earlier had a much bigger impact on me than Lennon....The tragic aspect aside, I was always more of a Macca fan....

There is going to be the final interview with John in the Rolling Stone. He did a 9 hour interview a couple days before he was killed and only a small portion of it has been printed, untill now. When I was a senior in high school back in 1979, everyone used to call me and my girlfriend(who is now my wife Connie) John and Yoko.
